Lee Shapiro
Lee Shapiro is the 2023-25 chairperson-elect of the Board of the American Heart Association (AHA) and chairperson of the Business Solutions Oversight Committee. He previously served as treasurer of the Association from 2021-23.
Lee is a managing partner at 7wireVentures, an investment firm he co-founded over a decade ago. He also served as chief financial officer of Livongo Health and is former president of Allscripts where his leadership was integral in the execution of over $4B in mergers, acquisitions and financings.
Shapiro is a co-founder and board member of The World Innovation Network, the advisory committee of the University of Chicago Innovation Fund Advisory Committee, and the Samsung Digital Health Advisory Board. He is a frequent speaker at widely attended industry conferences and is a published contributor to the Forbes Business Council.
Shapiro practiced commercial law at Barack, Ferrazzano, Kirschbaum, Perlman and Nagelberg, a prominent Chicago law firm. He holds a JD degree from The University of Chicago Law School and a BS in Accounting from the University of Illinois.
Shapiro and his wife Valerie, served as chairs for the Heart of Chicago Heart Ball, and their leadership helped it grow to become the No. 1 Heart Ball in the U.S.. In addition, their generous matching gifts have inspired donors everywhere to honor the women in their lives through the Association’s Millions Honoring Moms campaign.
