Members of Parliament have advocated reforming the BBC's funding model. They suggest lowering costs and expanding funding to cover areas beyond television. MPs also recommend ending the BBC's charter process and halting the broadcaster from outbidding commercial rivals for overseas shows. The proposals aim to solve the BBC's operational difficulties as it faces a critical decision point. The recommendations come amid ongoing discussions about the broadcaster's next steps.
