CenterPoint Energy confirmed that personal data of customers was exposed in a data breach. Class action lawsuits were filed after the breach. The company noted services are still running and that customers' personal information was obtained.

In a separate matter, the FBI informed Springfield officials that a school cyber attack amounted to a data breach that possibly exposed Social Security numbers. Student and employee data were compromised in the Springfield Public Schools incident, the FBI said. The FBI gave the warning to local officials.
