Jacob Coxon, alignment lead at Anthropic, has stepped down. He issued a warning that artificial intelligence carries serious risks.
Coxon said there is more than a 10 percent chance that AI could cause all humans to die by the next decade. He characterised ongoing AI development as a gamble involving human lives.
Coxon described the technology out of control. His departure has drawn attention. The resignation follows his warnings about serious AI risks.
