Meta is set to hand over up to 18 billion US dollars to finalize lawsuits with US states concerning platform addiction and risks to young users.
The historic agreement resolves legal claims from California and other states focused on youth addiction on its popular apps.
Under the terms of the settlement, Meta also accepted significant reform measures on Facebook and Instagram. The legal pact ends pending litigation in the United States involving claims over social media harms to children and teens.
