Between 266,000 and 450,000 high school students flooded the streets across France on Tuesday in what organisers called "act 3" of an active student campaign. Classes were suspended at multiple schools as clashes broke out, with police making 488 arrests.
President Emmanuel Macron called an emergency meeting with ministers at the Elysee Palace in response to the unrest. Demonstrators from Saint-Denis to Paris said they were pushing for a better future, with many voicing deep discontent at current conditions.
