Preston North End has fired manager Paul Heckingbottom. The club announced his exit on Sunday. Preston is currently in the relegation zone of the Championship after losing six of its first seven games in the current league schedule. Heckingbottom was appointed at Preston last year. He once led Sheffield United. The club will be led by a Premier League cult hero in the interim role. The decision arrives after a poor start in this year's league campaign.
