Supreme Court Declines Roy Moore Defamation Verdict Appeal

The US Supreme Court has rejected Roy Moore's appeal to restore an $8.2 million defamation verdict in his favour. The court rejected the bid on 5 October 2026, putting an end to Moore's effort to reinstate the jury's original ruling.

The dispute involves a campaign advertisement. Moore had argued the verdict should stand in his favour, but the Supreme Court's refusal to take up the case leaves the lower court outcome in place against him.
