The NFL is phasing out the annual Pro Bowl contest after 75 years. The league is scrapping the actual game, but star players will continue to be recognized. Players will still be named as Pro Bowlers to receive their yearly recognition.
Player honors will stay in place despite the cancellation of the match. However, alternates will no longer be selected by the league. The ruling ends the 75 year history of the yearly event, but leading stars will still receive their official Pro Bowl honors each year.
